Baku Shooting Center, located in the eastern part of Baku, is one of the key facilities promoting youth engagement in sports and a healthy lifestyle. It was inaugurated on March 9, 2015. The center stands out for its functionality. It features a shooting line that allows 80 athletes to compete simultaneously, as well as facilities for practical training and testing, a café, VIP waiting and relaxation areas, doping control rooms, and weapon storage halls. The total area of the complex exceeds 123,000 square meters.
The center accommodates both professional and recreational shooting activities, providing conditions for competitions in bullet shooting disciplines at distances of 10, 25, 50, and 300 meters. The area is spacious enough to allow around 80 shooters to practice simultaneously within the same zone. Additionally, the indoor 10-meter shooting range is equipped with firing lines for 80 athletes at the same time. The semi-covered 300-meter range also offers comprehensive conditions for high-level competitions, allowing up to 40 athletes to compete simultaneously.
In the field of clay target shooting, five shooting ranges have been constructed, equipped with 75 target-throwing machines for trap shooting. For skeet shooting, five towers have been built, equipped with a total of 10 target-throwing machines.
Regarding the responsibilities of the Shooting Federation, the center determines the coaching staff and national team roster each year. It also approves current and long-term plans, the composition of delegations sent abroad, and reports from delegation leaders.
The federation ensures the social protection and interests of athletes, coaches, and other specialists representing the country internationally. It also pays attention to supporting sports veterans. The Shooting Federation places particular emphasis on planning and organizing both national and international competitions, as well as on improving the qualifications of shooting specialists and promoting the widespread development of the sport.
